Responsibilities The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising and managing production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Will be responsible for leadership of team leaders. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to identify personnel shortages from day to day
- Supervise all production operations such as roll forming, processing on the continuous line, trim shop and texture operation.
- Train/coach team leaders and oversee the training of department leads, line operators, and production team members in order to meet our company's goals and objectives
- Ensure effective employee relations. Make employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver quality manufactured products in a timely fashion
- Communicate line problems, parts shortages, engineering problems, etc. to management
- Maintain daily communication with team members and management to plan for the day/week/month production
- Continuously seek new and innovative ways to solve problems while maintaining focus on continuous improvement
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to management.
- The ability to exercise Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is required.
- Perform accident investigations.
- Maintain proper inventory levels.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping.

EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Preferred Bacheloregree or Associate Degree in a technical field OR 8 - 10 years of progressive lean manufacturing experience.
- Previous quality management experience.
- Must show a proven track record of accomplishments in a leadership role.
- Must be safety-conscious at all times while maintaining quality initiatives.
- Must be knowledgeable of manufacturing methods, production schedules, and shop operations.
- Must be able to understand shop drawings and blueprints.
