Primary Responsibility:
The Production Supervisor reports to the Shift Manager and is responsible for ensuring that production on assigned line is run in an efficient and safe manner to ensure production of first quality product to meet customer needs and specifications.
Functional Responsibilities: - Manage assigned production line in a continuous improvement environment.
- Ensure that GMPs and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
- Direct reports include one hourly lead and hourly employees assigned to line.
- Manage labor on assigned shift in a manner that minimizes overtime and produce the planned output of first quality product.
- Complete daily reporting for shift including employee time edits.
- Work with QA on assigned shift relative to product that is placed on hold.
- Ensures that safety and job specific training are conducted on assigned shift.
Education Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent required. Further education desired.
Requirements: - A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible positions in a production environment.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience in meat/food production preferred.
- Experience or exposure to SPC in a production environment.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- Successful experience with employee retention strategies.
- Team builder and team member
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Office and timekeeping systems.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) desired.
