Legal Technologist (Paralegal) – Knowledge Management (Dubai)
Job purpose To be an integral part of the firm's adoption of new legal technology software in the MENA region.
Key responsibilities The main responsibilities are as follows:
- Testing new legal technology against pre-defined criteria and evaluating performance in the MENA region;
- Inputting and assisting with the design of the content of legal technology platforms, including (in the initial part of the role) implementing software customisations to a specific product;
- Co-ordinating with the core legal teams and the IT team on project delivery, liaising with software developers on the roll-out, and maintaining and dealing with technology support questions from internal and external clients (where relevant);
- Becoming the "go to person" for functionality, training, amendments and extension of these legal technology platforms;
- Tracking usage and feedback, issue spotting; and
- Connecting with global and other regional innovation / legal technology teams to understand and communicate to the MENA region their legal technology innovation projects being undertaken within the firm.
Candidate profile The ideal candidate will: - have a legal training background (for example a law degree and/or completed the LPC or be overseas qualified, or equivalent);
- have a proven high level of IT literacy, coding training/experience will be highly regarded;
- ideally have experience using legal technology software such as e-discovery/e-due diligence software, document automation (e.g. Contract Express or Hotdocs), workflow products (e.g. Neota Logic, Mattersphere), portal technology (e.g. HighQ, SharePoint), etc;
- have an interest in new and emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, block chain technology, data room analytics and document review platforms;
- have a proven track record of strong organisational skills;
- have excellent attention to detail;
- be proactive, with strong persuasive skills; and
- be resourceful and persistent in finding solutions.
