Provides resident centered personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining vital signs, psychosocial support and other personal cares. Assists residents in transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercise. Completes tasks related to dining and food preparation. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. Provides a positive dining experience. Accurately documents outcomes related to resident cares, behaviors, activities and dietary. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational; follows consistent hand washing and Personal Protective Equipment use. Provides assistance/documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This class starts on Monday, February 12 and runs through Friday, March 2, 2018. The class meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Neilson Place. Applicants successfully hired into the class will be paid while they learn.
QUALIFICATIONS In Minnesota a Certified Nursing Assistant must be certified and registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Must have good human relations and communication skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Food service experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to follow procedures and instructions given. Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of resident care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area. Must possess a desire to work with residents in post-acute care and long term care. Prior long term care experience preferred.
