The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for assisting with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. The CNA works within the Professional Practice Model of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Education Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant course.
Experience One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting beneficial or previous work experience in a post-acute care setting or nursing home beneficial.
Required Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required with current registry recommended.
For Float, Palliative Care Unit (PCU), Home Health, and Hospice - Current CNA registry required.
