Job Summary: The Donation Express Supervisor will provide for the most consistent supervision, and operation of the Donation Express Centers (DEC).
Job Description Essential Functions - Travel to the DEC sites daily to monitor the performance of the attendants.
- Ensure that all donation centers are staffed, supplied, organized. It is the Supervisors responsibility to ensure that there is 7 day per week supervision of the sites in his/her zone.
- Train and re-train attendants at the donation centers, in areas of organization of donated goods, maintenance and safety of trailers and surrounding areas, customer service, and recycling by using a consistent training plan. The Supervisor may use the assistance of the lead attendant for staff development needs.
- Work closely with the Donations Manager and the Director of Donations to evaluate poor performing DECs and implements training opportunities with the lead attendant & staff to overcome these weaknesses and improve the performance of the DEC. Develop contingency plan for sites as needed.
- Fill in as DEC Attendant, to achieve 100% staffing.
- Document superior and negative observations and communicates this information with the attendants and The Donations Manager and the Director of Donations.
- Complete weekly audit forms to include DEC reviews, opening & closing audit, donor count audits, supervisor trip sheet, and schedule changes.
- Transport supplies to the donation centers, as needed. Gather documents, weekly activity sheets & receipt, on a weekly basis.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of standards for superior operation of all Donation Express Centers.
- Expense control for the DEC operation
- Short & Long term planning of the donation operations
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
Minimum Qualifications Required Skills: Education - High school diploma is required.
Experience - One (1) year of experience working with and effectively managing people is required.
Knowledge and Skills - Must be self-motivated to work independently toward agreed upon goals and objectives.
- Able to self-manage time and prioritize goals.
- Able to carry/lift loads weighing over 50 pounds frequently.
- Able to push/pull loads weighing over 50 pounds frequently.
- Able to effectively train attendants to be valuable and productive employees of Goodwill.
- Able to communicate goals and agendas with the Donations Manager and the Director of Donations on a daily basis.
- Able to effectively problem solve and react to dynamic conditions.
- Must have own transportation and ability to transport self to all assigned attended donations centers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate well with broad spectrum of people including clients and employees.
- Must have the ability to provide a consistently mature, neat, clean image for Goodwill Industries.
