Job Description

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Vistar Retail Mechanicsburg Distribution Center.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinate and supervise all warehouse and dock activities on a daily basis
• Direct and participate in all labor management activities, including: performance management (e.g. job evaluations; coaching and disciplinary action), recruiting (interview & selection), and training and development. Have a proactive approach to addressing employee concerns and resolving problems in a professional manner
• Ensure shipping, receiving, storage, order processing and overall distribution is performed efficiently, accurately and on-time.
• Comply with the Company's health & safety programs, ensuring safe operation of all material handling, housekeeping standards are maintained, and a safe working environment is promoted
• Maintain current and accurate warehouse and receiving records
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all company policy and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and/or local law
• Maintain a positive presence on the floor throughout the shift, promoting team spirit and working collaboratively to achieve team goals
• Have a ds-onmmitment to getting the job done

Required Qualifications Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.

Required Experience: 2 - 4 Years of Warehouse experience or related experience.

• Understand proper methods and procedures used in safe receiving, storing and shipping and delivery. General knowledge of inventory procedures
• Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or capable of learning quickly
• Experience in planning work and setting goals
• Detail oriented and organized with ability to prioritize and follow-up and effectively manage time and meet deadlines
• Possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with direct reports and peers; foster a positive team environment within the DC
• Intermediate PC skills, including MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point & Word) and ability to navigate through Company's intranet site
• Demonstrates an appropriate sense of urgency and adaptability in response to changing business needs
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 50lbs and stand / walk for extended periods of time and frequently grasp, lift, push, pull, bend, squat and reach
• Able to read and communicate fluently in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations
• Have safety shoes with steel or composite toe
• Successfully complete pre-employment background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: Associates/2-year technical degree in Business management, logistics or related area.

Preferred Experience: 4 - 6 Years of Warehouse experience within foodservice industry.

Supervisory experience.

Preferred Professional Certification(s): OSHA Forklift operator certificate.

Ability to speak Spanish preferred, but not required.
