Job Description Patient Care Supervisor - RN:
Actively supervises the clinical operations of a large volume clinic in partnership with the Clinic Manager and Medical Director. Provides daily workflow direction and supervision of site staff to ensure providers have adequate staffing assistance to accommodate clinic efficiency while also achieving site objectives. Directly supervises registered/licensed nursing staff and other patient care staff (CMA, MA, LPN, etc.).
As the Patient Care Supervisor - RN, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, pay decisions, discipline, firing and staffing, leading and/or participating in improvement projects/teams.
- Supervises training of staff upon hire and ongoing development to ensure that employees are competent to perform the skills and tasks required for their position.
- Ensures that staff training complies with OSHA, Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
- Advises and leads patient care staff with regard to changes in the medical community to ensure best practices and may be responsible for clinical policy/ procedure development and implementation.
- Provides direction and assists with care of patients in urgent and emergent situations.
- Assists in achieving coordination, consistency, and integration in the operation of the clinic site in conjunction with clinic leadership, and assists with the development and implementation of required learnings, policies and procedures.
- Other duties include promoting the clinic to providers and community members.
In order to qualify for this role, you must possess:
- Current Minnesota RN License.
- Bacheloregree in Nursing
- Five years of nursing experience in an ambulatory or inpatient care setting including two years of supervisory or nursing leadership experience in a clinical setting. Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Proven Patient Centered Care and above average performance as an RN.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to multi-task on an ongoing basis. Good organization and prioritization skills.
- Must be a relationship builder, superior patient advocate, self-motivated problem solver, continuous improver and technically advanced in nursing.
Preferred: - Continuously improves and maintains expertise in profession, develops better processes and continuously improves skills
- Three to five years of nursing leadership experience in Family Medicine or Primary Care setting.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols
- Proficient with EPIC EHR
- Continuous education in related clinical area.
- Critical thinking, Leadership and team development skills.
