The Role Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Control Supervisor will collaboratively work with the team and staff to ensure operational safety, efficiency and that controls are maintained on the production floor and subject to continuous improvement. Additionally, The Production Control Supervisor will provide supervision of day-to-day operations of CONWIP including receiving, stocking, and movement of materials and all transactions related to those activities. This person will also ensure the efficiency and the accuracy of stocking and organizing parts inventory on the production floor.
Responsibilities Responsible for assistance in setting up and maintaining the production layout and overall flow
Supervise a team of Production Control Associates in order to meet departmental goals via appropriate allocation of workload and effective resource management
Formulate performance improvement plans and makes termination decisions as necessary
Interview, select, and train new employees
Mentor, evaluate, and develop employees
Monitor day to day work of staff for process adherence and compliance
Evaluate employee work and productivity
Meet with team members one-on-one to provide continual coaching and evaluation of process and procedures
Manage the flow on work on the floor and all BOM at the tool locations
Control inventory levels and execution of processes by conducting physical counts, reconciling with the inventory management system, and optimizing the speed and flow of inventory within the facility
Establish appropriate demand forecasting processes, implement production materials forecasting methodologies that maximize forecast accuracy
Manage space optimization within the production area
Implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory data used across the manufacturing facility
Maintain key performance objectives for on time delivery
Safeguards all operations and contents by establishing and monitoring proper procedures and protocols, management strategies, processes, issues, and opportunities at the site
Establishes and implements processes to ensure the timely disposition of waste and excess materials
Resolve process issues related to materials management, production control, logistics and distribution
Qualifications: High School Diploma
3+ years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience in fast paced, high volume safety focused manufacturing environment with demonstated evidence of exceptional ability. * Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S.
- Experience in selecting and developing new team members.
- Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills.
Excellent organizational skills to manage and track transactional details * Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs).
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekday and weekend overtime.
- Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated leadership skills, strong team orientation, and proven ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management required
Able to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various teams including supply chain personnel in a lean principles environment
Excellent customer service skills required
Able to lift up to 30 lbs
