Primary Function The Production Supervisor (Assistant) will be a ervisor in Trainingsition and work closely with current Leadership in any given assembly department in preparation to assume supervisory responsibilities. The Production Supervisor (Assistant) will eventually be responsible for the overall safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and morale of an assembly department with accountability for meeting production and quality goals while driving projects to improve quality and reduce costs.
Responsibilities - Provide direct supervision for assigned Team Leads and coach/mentor team members to drive superior performance and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work within a team environment and collaborate closely with process engineers, maintenance technicians and production control to maximize efficiencies.
- Must be able to determine root cause of problems and implement corrective actions.
- Read, understand and comply with specific work instructions related to assigned processes.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Able to manage priorities and multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or direction.
- Strictly follow company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications - High School Diploma required, Associater Bacheloregree preferred.
- If no education beyond High School, must be willing to enroll and complete a college degree. (Tuition assistance is available).
- Must be able to work 1st or 2nd Shift, as required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook) is required.
- Experience with SAP and Kronos is highly desirable.
- Although not required, prior experience operating a forklift is desirable.
Physical Requirements - Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe shoes/boots, ear and eye protection.
- Loud noises and limited exposure to dust and fumes.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds overhead and maneuver various parts weighting up to 50 lbs.
- Variable hot and cold working environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Use of wrenching, impacting, and/or vibrating tools (manual and automatic) is required occasionally for extended periods of time.
