Due to increased Consultancy project activities, we are now looking to hire an ‘HSE Consultant’ to support the service delivery for an extension project that Lloyd’s Register are very likely to soon secure. The position will be on a 1-year fixed-term contract initially. It is possible that that the contract could be further extended or the role could be made permanent later on depending on the project scope, our business requirement then, and your individual performance during this time.
Based in our Abu Dhabi office and reporting to the Project Manager, the HSE Consultant will be responsible for performing assessments and/or provide solutions to requests from internal and external Clients. The role will provide excellent opportunities for both personal and professional development.
What will you be doing? - Provide advice regarding international and local HSE legislative compliance and best practice in the safe operation of distribution networks.
- Conduct Gap analysis of existing HSEMS against existing OSHAD SF V 3.1 2017 and international standards - ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001
- Conduct HSE Risk Assessment/JSA and develop associated material i.e. RAs, JSAs and Risk Register(s)
- Update the existing HSE documentation to the latest requirements i.e. OSHAD SF V3.1, ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001
- Develop HSE Inspection forms and checklists as required.
- Develop HSE training materials as deemed necessary.
- Conduct HSE training and hold workshops as required.
- Conduct HSE site inspections and audits as required.
- Participate/assisting in HSE Incident investigation when required.
- Provide adequate HSE support to ADSSC Division/Department.
What are we looking for? - Minimum higher diploma or degree in Engineering/Science. Ideally, the candidate will have a second degree and/or Chartered Engineer status.
- Have at least 7-10 years relevant experience, preferably in the Industrial/Energy/Building and Construction/Waste/public utilities sectors.
- Registered as a Grade A practitioner with the OSHAD Quadrat program.
- Being in possession of appropriate HSE qualifications (NEBOSH IGC, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, etc.)
- Proven ability to develop and write Management procedure as per latest versions of OSHAD SF , OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001
- Strong working knowledge of and competency in the latest versions of OSHAD SF , and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 31000 and ISO 9001
- Experience in providing HSE Training
- Qualified and active auditor for the latest versions of OSHAD SF, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001.
- Being a Client facing role, the applicant should have excellent communication, strong presentation, and technical report writing skills, including a strategic command of the English language. Arabic speaking capability would be advantageous but not mandatory for this role.
- Strong commitment to high HSE standards.
- Able to manage time effectively, both own time and that of a team to achieve delivery of work against agreed schedules.
