Job Summary The Aviation Department within the College of Engineering has currently about 450 students and is expanding its academic spectrum including a master program in Aviation. Presently the vast majority of students is in the BSc Aviation program. ADU also offers an MBA with a Concentration in Aviation Management. The program is built on the University’s strategic partnership with Etihad Airways.
The aviation faculty are expected and encouraged to conduct research. Certain grants are available for research, attending conferences and personal development or training. Appointment will be as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor rank, depending on teaching and research experience.
Required Skills - Desirable an earned doctorate in Aeronautical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
- An excellent record of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Understanding of new media, visual communication, and e-learning.
- Demonstrated experience in aviation program and course development at university level.
- Strong record of publication and scholarship.
- Desirable is professional experience within the aviation industry e.g. an airline, airport, air traffic control service provider, manufacturer, consultancy.
- A pilot license and flying experience is considered a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in working with people from different ethnic backgrounds.
