The candidate will
The Business Finance team at my clients firm is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to work on projects that will have a high reaching impact on the company's bottom-line. While most people are focused on topline growth initiatives, the Finance Analyst works in a team that has the challenging job of making an impact on cost control initiatives. The successful candidate will have a mix of financial skills coupled with technical acumen to drive various opex projects and initiatives.
- Drive opex reporting and analysis to the management and senior leadership, and ensure there is adequate visibility into P&L cost lines
- Continuously liaise with the Accounting team to ensure that opex bookings are in line with Amazon management reporting framework
- Work with global teams for various clients projects that are expected to continue into 2019 and focus on aspects related to budgets, transfers, planning etc.
- Support the Finance team for controllership on headcount and cost budgets and ensure that there is timely and consistent communication to the clients leadership teams on these metrics
- Work on quarterly and annual opex budgeting process and ensure that forecasts have minimum variance with actual financials
- Explore areas of automation and analytics to improve efficiency and effectiveness of opex tracking, reporting and analysis
Use monthly opex figures to identify trends or provide insights to management backed by sound data-driven analysis
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required; MBA-Finance / CA / CFA preferred
- Experience of 4+ years in a Finance-related field
- Must be an expert with MS Excel; working knowledge of macros is a plus.
- Demonstrated financial analysis and modeling skills
- Proven ability to work against tough deadlines in a challenging environment
- Should have exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture
- Proactive, results-driven, and able to correctly set priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP or OFA experience is a plus
- Familiarity with data warehousing and basic knowledge of SQL is a plus
- Knowledge of Cognos is a plus
- Experience in e-commerce is a plus
