J&J Consumer business comprises of three major business verticals viz. Skin Health, Self Care and Essential Health and Centres of Excellence. Each of the business verticals is organized as 'Center Squads' fully integrated into the Global Consumer operating model. Similarly, Centres of Excellence support the business verticals and the markets in building and supporting new capabilities. Consumer Regional Office includes multiple functions housed in Singapore to support the global business and the countries and houses businesses that are directly run out of Singapore.
Description of the role: The role of Manager - Finance is in the Consumer business of J&J.
The role provides financial leadership to the Regional Office functions of Consumer business based in Singapore.
This role combines accounting/reporting, business partnering and compliance.
This role is that of a business partner to all the Consumer business leaders in AP (including Company Group Chair) to formulate and manage their budgets and in driving efficiency. This is a high-visibility role that interacts directly with all senior management members in AP Consumer and in Global Consumer.
The role is responsible for leading accounting and reporting of Consumer RO (multiple MRCs and multiple Legal Entities) and in ensuring compliance to all J&J guidelines, standards and procedures. The role is also responsible for driving compliance in Consumer RO MRCs and functions working with GS Compliance and Legal teams.
The role provides financial leadership in guiding and ensuring right governance and adherence to J&J global policies and procedures in (a) establishing and running regional business models (b) changes to regional business operations and (c) global operations run out of the regional office.
This position reports to Sr Finance Director - AP Consumer Regional Finance & Strategy and will have 1 direct report.
Key responsibilities: - Accountable for the Consumer budget and financials for Regional Office (business verticals and centres of excellence) and Global Franchise Organization (GFO) ; serves as a BUF for other teams/functions in aligning with Consumer RO budgets, systems and processes.
- Continuously evaluate financial governance and controls in a fast-changing business environment and in new/emerging business models (e.g. Free Trade Zone, China, Project 88) to establish appropriate levels of financial governance and controls in Consumer Regional Office
- Work with FP&A COE and Global Services in ensuring that the financials are reported as per internal and external guidelines
- Conduct financial reviews with stakeholders on a monthly / quarterly basis
- Responsible for the overall SOX and compliance activities for RO and APSC including leading internal audits
- Drive simplification of processes in a complex environment. Actively drive stabilisation of ESP-led reorganisation including continuous placement of activities (current and new) in the Global Finance Standardisation model.
- Manage transactional activities: e.g., closing activities and reporting are done on time and provide the expected support on budget tracking (e.g., BVA)
- Drive the financial updates and annual business budget process for RO and GFO
- Key liaison with the tax planning group in ensuring the proper accounting of tax reserves
- Lead in key initiatives such as SMART including SG&A and BME, simplification of process such as BME tracking etc.
Qualifications
Qualifications: - Advanced degree and/or professional designation in Accounting
- Professional certification (e.g. ACCA/CA/CPA/CMA) is preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
- Experience with TM1 (preferred) and strong in Microsoft Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Very comfortable with numbers and attentive to details
- Strong resilience, judgment and resourcefulness
Competencies: - Business partner mindset with an ability to partner senior management
- Should be well-versed with J&J policies and procedures and ways of working
- In a fast-paced environment and with the recent changes to the Consumer organization in Regional Office and the role itself is evolving, the individual has to be comfortable working with ambiguity and able to lead and shape along the journey.

- Strong communicator and influencer with an ability to effectively work across all levels and culture to gain trust and drive change
