The Role Responsibilities
- To collaborate with local and group finance teams to be able to provide insightful and relevant financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.
- To ensure regular and ad-hoc management reporting requirements are timely delivered.
- To ensure integrity of the management performance results through keeping regular track of the financial and management differences and their validity.
- Analyze country performance (management and financial), review highlight risks and opportunities and drive actions to ensure committed financial outcome.
- Drive effective cost management through a rigorous cost control and investment management process
- To implement group management accounting policies and resolve associated issues.
- To manage overall process of financial forecasting and corporate planning, as well as other specific areas assigned to the team (e.g. Other Banking, Corp Items and CEO).
- To provide guidance and assistance to GFS teams when there are reporting issues and to give clarity and direction when there are ambiguity.
- To provide the required support to other country finance teams on various regular or ad-hoc submissions (e.g. IWST, ICAAP, capital projections).
- To support and contribute to key finance projects and process change agenda.
- Manage overall design and outcome of the end-to-end process and owns the process output performance in terms of client service, financial performance and risk where appointed as Process Owners.
- Ensure compliance with Group/ IFRS accounting principles and practices, Financial Control Policy and other regulatory accounting guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial returns to internal and external authorities and stakeholders.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant in the Banking/Financial Services sector with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Good analytical skills, knowledge of reporting standards and understanding on accounting of banking processes.
- Strong communication, PowerPoint and Excel skills - able to present clear outputs.
- Ability to think both strategically and analytically and apply these skills to interpret financial information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues and build teamwork.
- Good multi-tasker who is able to work under pressure and tight deadlines while delivering quality output to senior management.
- High level of numeracy and detailed oriented.
