Your Role and Responsibilities
The Contract Financial Analyst is part of the Quote to Cash team who is focused on end-to-end workflows of a contract, aligned with our Client Partner Executives (CPEs), Delivery Partner Executives (DPEs) and clients -- from proposal to contract, revenue and signing registration, contract profit optimization, billing and other contract activities.
The analyst is responsible for the analysis of the IBM forecast, budget, quota, actuals, and business dynamics. The analyst is responsible for interacting with the business units and geographies on the forecast, actuals, budget, quota and business metrics. The analyst is responsible for the development of forecast and budget variance analysis and provides business assessments on an on-going basis. The analystdesigns, prepares, and presents detailed analysis of business issues and recommended solutions to management.
The analyst supports contract management activities at the individual client contract level to achieve contract performance targets. He or she ensures compliance with IBM business controls policies, manages risks to the contract's business objectives, and develops a relationship and regular interlock with the Project Executive (s) assigned to their accounts. He or she provides advisory support to Project Executives/Leaders. The analyst collaborates with Quote to Cash functions and manages the contract management processes using standard worldwide systems and tools.
Job Responsibilities: - Support the business team in reviewing transactional contracts for Gross versus Net, Signing and Revenue recognition matters, prior to contract signing with client
- Understand overall contract T&Cs, specifically those terms that have financial relevance, pricing case, termination clauses etc
- Review signed contracts with Signing & Backlog, Accounting for Signing reporting and Revenue recognition upon delivery ;
- Support Fall Plan, Budget and Quota setup ;
- Presenting Financials across many forums, Cadence meetings, Brand Finance and Account team review
- Preparation of Reporting Cadence, Signings (TCV), elemental spend, contract I&E to CFO, Controller, Consolidation
- Financial Forecast, tracking of actual against forecast, build roadmap to Budget for the account
- Work through Roadmap initiatives & risks with contracts CPE and DPE.
- Execute Quarterly Signing and Backlog certification
- Maintaining a strong compliance posture and addressing any audit queries that may arise
- Understand all finance related matters and support in audit requests such as internal audit, PwC and SOX testing.
- Be proactive with process improvement, automation and simplification.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Finance & Accounting
- Understand of Accounting Principles to discuss Revenue Recognition, Cost Matching and Gross versus Net with KL Accountant
- Understand P/L, and basic Consolidation Financial Skill
- Audit experience will be an added advantage
- Fluent in English & Good communication skills in written & oral
- Expert level in Microsoft Office Applications
- Meticulous, Ability to Multi-task, Attention to detail.
- Experienced in project management & responsible and takes ownership of projects tasked
- Good in time management
- Minimum 2 years of experience in MNC, preferably with good knowledge of contract finance, Signing and Backlog and Country/Regional finance & planning exposure
