The Company Our client is an award winning research and insights Agency based in Singapore. Due to their continuing growth, they are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team in Singapore.
The Role The Finance Manager will undertake all aspects of financial management, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, project budgeting and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities - Administration of Financial Systems
- Take charge of bookkeeping and other related financial matters
- Keep a track of invoices schedule for each project
- Coordinate with project managers and executives to issue all invoices for every project in a timely manner.
- Track payments, requests for payments and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Safe keep all accounting and management record for audit and future retrieval.
- Develop accounting and internal control policy.
- Prepare monthly projections for accounts receivable in consultation with Directors/Senior Managers.
- Ensure project profitability and efficient costing management system. Perform cost analysis on each project which inclusive of overhead allocation e.g. fieldwork, incentives, courier, printing, etc.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with all vendors (a) Sub Contractors (research related) and (b) Suppliers (non-research related); resolve queries.
- Receive all invoices from vendors, perform validation and ensure expenses are correctly allocated to appropriated projects.
- Prepare payments to vendors for MD to approve.
- Review Data entry of invoices, payment vouchers and petty cash.
- Prepare monthly journals for month end closings
- Review/prepare balance sheet schedulesApprove Monthly bank reconciliation.
- Prepare Monthly management accounts.
- Review and file Quarterly GST F5 to IRAS.
- Prepare and file Annual Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) to IRAS.
- Prepare and file Annual Corporate Income Tax to IRAS.
- Prepare and file Personal Annual Income Tax (for MD) to IRAS.
- Prepare and submit Annual Survey of Services for Singapore Department of Statistics and answer any possible quires.
- Prepare and file Corporate Income Tax Rebate and Grants to IRAS.
- Prepare financial statement for EPPU renewal (minimum Financial Grade S10 - tendering capacity $10,000,000.00)
- Management Information Systems
- Coordinating, archiving and preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Develop, improve and publish bi-monthly or monthly cash flow forecasting and projections for top management
- Prepare analysis for financial information for monitoring reports when required
- Ensure standardization and quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with research and operation teams for monthly data requirements and financial reporting
- Ensure appropriate backups of financial information are stored off site; manages financial information with discretion
- Additional Job Duties
- Providing service in addition to financial support is an important part of this career. There are times when you will have direct contact with your company's clients and customers, whether it's regarding a product or order inquiry or a billing issue
- Identify potential cost saving options and play an active role in implementing those initiatives within the organization
- Manage salesforce and liaise with IT department to help create in-house financial management and monitoring Apps/tools/platforms
- Liaise with Operations departments on projects and finance related matter to support research teams function efficiently
- Calculate salaries and prepare pay roll, provide pay roll forecast for MD and ED on a quarterly basis
The Candidate We're looking for someone who is experienced and talented to fill this role. Someone who is not only Financial Manager, but someone who has worked with project based tasks in either/both SME or MNC type businesses. Someone who can see beyond the everyday and can think on their feet and be hands on.
Skills & Qualifications - Proven working experience as a Finance Controller/Finance Manager/Accounting
- 5+ years of overall finance experience
- Management Degree in Finance preferred
- Experience with creating financial statements and administration skills
- Knowledge of use of financial platforms preferred
- SME/MNC experience
