SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Project Manager and Quality Control Manager. Support from Regional Manager.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Landscaping Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of his/her crew (25+ employees). The Landscaping Supervisor will report directly to the Project Manager.
SCOPE
The Landscaping Supervisor reports to the Project Manager and services the base. The Landscaping Supervisor is also responsible for servicing areas as directed by the Project Manager, proper operation and inspection of his/her crews equipment, and reporting any issues with his/her crews equipment to the Mechanic or Project Manager. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health, safety and security of the public.
RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties - Ensure that all areas assigned for the day are completed up to contract standards
- Perform routine maintenance and inspect his/her crews and company vehicle at the end of each day
- Adhere to company policies and breaks as directed by Project Manager. Also ensure that your crew is doing the same
- Perform daily inspection of his/her crews equipment to notice any potential equipment malfunction
- Ensure that the crew is servicing areas in a safe and productive manner while avoiding damage to other peopleroperty
- Ensure that the crew is wearing all safety gear as required by CW Resources
- Notify Project Manager of any areas that are unsafe to weed whack or cannot be serviced for the day.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of this position
- Obey and observe all traffic laws while operating CW Resources equipment
- Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and carry equipment that weighs over 35 pounds for extended periods of time
- Must be able to stay after hours or work on weekends if needed
- Perform re-servicing of failed areas
- Perform final inspection of all areas assigned to you and your crew
- Ability to complete daily paperwork for all assigned areas
- Perform weekly safety talks with employees
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to troubleshoot small engine repairs
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years landscaping experience with 3 years supervisor experience
- Experience managing large work crews of 25+ employees
- 2 years+ working in related field and experience working with people with disabilities
- Supervisory herbicide spraying license a plus
- Must be able to drive a truck and a trailer
- OSHA 10-30 hour certification a plus
- DOT certification a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES
Knowledge - The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Extensive working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in landscaping contracts
- Knowledge of proper hazardous chemical disposal
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
- Knowledge of broadleaf weeds a plus
Skills
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to establish effective working relationships at different levels.
- Computer literate and technology savvy ideal
Position Requirements
Must submit to background check prior to hire and ongoing as dictated by contract. Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet current contract legibility requirements that apply or become applicable for the contract. Must be able to pass and maintain background check for driving.
