Business Development Manager-Meeting & Events
With more than 40 years in the industry and offices in over 100 countries, American Express Meetings & Events (M&E) delivers end-to-end event management solutions for our clients. Reporting to the Market Leader based in Australia, you are responsible to develop new business and build strong sales pipeline for Meetings & Events services. The ideal candidate is a driven individual with relevant M&E experience that thrives on hunting for new business and closing sales.
Job Responsibilities - Identify opportunities, new campaigns and channels to increase sales in M&E Services
- Identify and meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Work with Global Business Travel and Global Corporate Payment Teams to identify and qualify account lists into M&E opportunities
- Develop target account strategy to grow M&E across all industry and account verticals
- Develop and present proposals to clients for a variety of meeting types and sizes
- Work in partnership with Operations team to deliver high quality and effective solutions and proposals that meet client needs
- Generate event Scope Of Works and pricing in line with policies and procedures
- Generate client contracts for signature in line with policies and procedures
- Conduct handover to operations teams (Sourcing or Planning) in an effective manner to ensure smooth transition both internally and client facing
- Generate regular reporting on category performance, including Sales Forecasting, Actual Sold and account performance metrics
- Utilize M&E Technology platforms to track sales activity, update and maintain customer database, forecasting and revenue reporting
- Meet, and exceed, sales revenue targets for category in line with KPI deliverables
- Support and assist Operations team in fulfilment of meetings & events when required.
- Participate in audit compliance and support operational excellence initiatives
Requirements: - Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant B2B sales experience and proven track record in driving new M&E sales, if not exceeding targets
- Ability to identify and deliver new business and/or growth opportunities and build pipelines
- Strong consulting and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels within an organization
- Proficient in Microsoft software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
- Excellent proposal and presentation skills with an ability to efficiently prepare presentations that are professional and effective
- Excellent communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal are essential with ability and present and engage at a senior stakeholder level
- Candidate should be flexible, detail oriented and able to work under pressure
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team with a focus on achieving result.
