Our client is searching for their next leader in the form of a Production Supervisor/Shift Foreman. They are in need of a leader: Someone who can manage a process and lead and mentor their employees.
Job summary: Lead, train, supervise, evaluate, and coach assigned manufacturing personnel. Assist Supervisors and Lead Operators with planning work and use of resources (people, tools, equipment, and so on) to maximize efficiency and the quality of the work performed.
Review melt schedules, blend heats, standard manufacturing procedures, quality control requirements, check lists, set-up information, previous results, and other data necessary to accurately communicate requirements and answer questions.
Review equipment operations (shears, presses, blenders, material handling equipment, and so on) to ensure reliability. Take corrective actions to be sure equipment is operating properly, maintained, and that personnel are correctly operating the equipment.
Review and approve all production employee weekly e-time data., vacation schedules and holiday schedules to ensure all manufacturing requirements are met.
Assist and oversee all projects related to capacity expansion, cost reductions, safety, productivity improvements, and quality improvements.
Work closely with other Foremen, Process Engineers, Melt Shop Managers, Safety & Training Specialist and Q.A. Managers to ensure all goals are met.
Accept weekend and holiday "manufacturing management" assignments as required.
Effectively communicate company and department goals, achievements, problems, solutions, practices, changes, and policies. Encourage positive communication. Enforce all company policies, rules, and regulations.
Conduct all operations in a clean and safe environment. Schedule appropriate cleaning to maintain high level of quality culture. Enforce all safety rules and regulations.
Maintain high ethical standards and integrity. Conduct all operations in a professional and businesslike manner.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and teams.
Complete and issue production, maintenance, and project status reports and memos as required.
Maintain a program of professional growth through selected seminars, courses, trade magazines, books, journals, and so on.
Communicate and conduct oneself in a professional manner, which is conducive to a healthy and productive business environment.
Assist the Training and Safety Specialist (as needed) by conducting (teaching) in-house training (safety, operational, quality, maintenance, and orientation) classes for employees.
Shift: 2nd (3pm - 11pm) and/or 3rd shift (11pm - 7am): 24hr operations, some weekend work involved when there is the need
Pay Grade: $65 - $75K base + quarterly bonuses based on company results
