JOB OBJECTIVE To direct the smooth operation of a fast-paced donation center and present a positive image of Goodwill to the community. Position reports to the District Manager or Outlet/Transportation Supervisor. The Donation Center Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all donation center personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Supervises Work Force
- Supervises donation center employees on a daily basis.
- Supervises orientation and training program for new employees.
- Follow the dress code and wear designated Identification as provided.
- Holds sales meetings monthly.
- Schedules hours within set limits.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring and termination decisions for all donation center personnel.
- Administrative and clerical operations.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Employee scheduling.
- Administering employee performance evaluations
- Administer employee discipline as necessary
- Handle customer complaints.
- Maintain records of store as required.
- Reports need for repairs to the District Sales Manager or Vice President of Transportation
- Supervises the ordering of cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Supervises inventories and supply requisitioning
- Attend meetings as required
- Attend the Donation Drive Thru.
- Answer the door as soon as the buzzer rings.
- Unload donations for donor.
- Be polite and prompt.
- Be able to refuse unacceptable items politely.
- Keep a tally of Drive-Thru customers.
- Process donations and move merchandise directly to storage
- Answer all telephone calls in a professional manner by at least the 3rd ring.
- Assist callers.
- Direct all other calls to management.
- Log truck as requested by management.
- Prepare incoming stock by sorting, sizing and hanging as necessary.
- Maintains safety and security of the premises and merchandise.
- Seeks to control pilferage and prevent burglary.
- Do bag checks anytime an employee leaves the building.
- Eliminates fire hazards and unsafe conditions
- Conducts emergency drills and instruct workers in fire prevention and safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe working and shopping environment.

- Must be well groomed and personable.
- Must have good eyesight, speech and hearing.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Must have good physical stamina and moderate mobility as well as the ability to walk, lift, bend, stoop, reach and work on feet for 8 hours a day.
- Ability to move filled boxes, barrels and Z racks weighing no more than 50 pounds.
- Some familiarity with current clothing, shoe styles, furniture, toys, wares, brand names, materials, prices, etc,
- Ability to read, write and do simple math functions.
- Ability to make quick correct decisions.
- Ability to deal with the public and co-workers in a tactful manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must have effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow standard retail practices.
- Must have a valid driver's license, access to and ability to drive a vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to pass drug screen before receiving store keys and random drug tests thereafter
