Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services supervises daily operation and provides technical expertise in Blood Bank, transfusion services, and donor unit processing. Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards and maintains on-going quality assurance and performance improvement. Supervises personnel and use of supplies and equipment to meet established productivity benchmarks and maximize cost containment.
Qualifications Minimum Required
- 3 or more years recent experience in blood bank and 2 or more years of leadership responsibility
- Bachelors' Degree
- Ability to supervise, build teams, teach and mentor others
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety of blood bank and transfusion issues
- Knowledge of all regulatory/accreditation standards that apply to the blood bank. Clinical Lab Scientist-CA(CLS)
Preferred/Desired
- 3 years prior experience as a Blood Bank Supervisor
- Spec Blood Bank Tech SBB(ASCP)
