Description: Lead the translation and execution of the ROPU Therapeutic Area(TA)/brand strategy in line with the global TA strategy and within the framework of Integrated Brand Planning to achieve growth and profitability targets in the region.
Drive brand performance with a strong focus on driving sales growth and market share gain of assigned brands. Work closely with the ROPU and OPU brand teams to ensure high quality operational plans are prepared and implemented through cross-business/function collaboration to maximize customer engagement and execution excellence.
Provide SEASK inputs into the development of TA/global brand strategies.
Lead, manage and develop the OPU Marketing Leads in the TA.
Duties & Responsibilities: STRATEGY:
- Translate the global TA strategy into a ROPU context
- Development and execution of the ROPU brand and TA strategy within the framework of Integrated Brand Planning
- Influence the development of TA/global brand strategies by providing SEASK inputs in relation to market, competitor and customer insights
DRIVING BUSINESS RESULTS:
INPUT TO BUSINESS PLANNING CYCLE (OUTLOOK AND LONG TERM FORECAST (LTF) PROCESS)
- Contribute to the LTF/Outlook preparation by providing sales and investment planning for the defined brand/TA
- Develop LTF proposals for Sales, Direct Promotion and Field Force FTEs
BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
- Drive the TA/Brand performance in line with the ROPU objectives
- Ensure achievement of ROPU sales, market share and profit/profitability objectives
PROCESS/CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION:
INTEGRATED BRAND PLAN(IBP) DEVELOPMENT
- Lead IBP development by TA
- Develop TA and Brand CSFs
- Develop ROPU Operational Plan
- Develop and monitor TA/Brand KPIs
- Guide OPU brand teams and provides active input into the development and review of OPU brand operating plans
OPERATIONAL PLAN EXECUTION/IN-MARKET IMPLEMENTATION DRIVE
- Closely follow up with OPUs on the implementation of OPU operational plans
- Work as a TA/brand team to execute ROPU operational plan including ROPU customer engagement plan (e.g. advisory boards, stand alone meetings, symposia aligned to external society meetings, KOL development plans etc)
- Execute medico-marketing initiatives for the ROPU to maximise customer engagement and guide OPU marketeers to achieve executional excellence
- Drive performance through high quality brand reviews, issue identification, brainstorming to offer / share medical-marketing solutions from Global/ROPU/OPU
LAUNCH READINESS
- Launch readiness driver - lead launch readiness process to ensure achievement of launch readiness milestones
- Ensure the preparedness and skills of the team to launch and promote products within the TA in terms of product, market and company development
- Work closely with Medical Affairs and Market Access to prepare for successful launch
CROSS FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT IN BRAND TEAM AND TA INTERACTION WITH OPU AND GLOBAL MARKETING
- Organise and lead cross functional team interactions
- Maintain strong interface with OPU marketing teams to facilitate growth of sales and market share
- Provide guidance to ensure alignment of individual OPU marketing activities with agreed ROPU goals and priorities
- Provide OPUs with regular updates on market & performance, ROPU strategy updates and global competitive information
- Seek regular feedback and input from OPU marketing teams (marketing/competitor/customer insights) to develop brand strategies and operational plans
- Interface with Corporate Marketing TA teams to ensure ROPU SEASK is well represented in global initiatives and development projects
- Ensure the ROPU strategies are aligned with key global strategic directions and that there is adequate access to global resources
MONITORING AND REPORTING
- Manage allocated TA DP budget
- In collaboration with Commercial Operations, deliver monthly performance update and KPI reporting, with close monitoring of OPU/ROPU market shares, immediately highlighting potential issues to PMMC and proposing solutions and counter measures
- Communicate regularly key summaries/updates to PMMC in a clear and precise way to facilitate information sharing, consultation and efficient decision making,
e.g. product knowledge, market/customer/competitor insights, M/S trends vs.other areas/markets
- In collaboration with Commercial Operations, define the market research requirements to develop market, customer and competitor insights
PEOPLE: PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AND TALENT MANAGEMENT PROCESS
- Develop expertise, know-how and competency of direct reports through ongoing feedback, coaching and development opportunities
- Provide clarity on the goals and objectives to be achieved by the team
- Oversee and drive overall performance management and talent management of the team at ROPU and OPU level
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION:
- Ensure implementation and compliance to the Performance Management / Talent Management /
Compensation Planning / BI People timelines for the year
- Ensure that there are development plans for direct reports and that they are being implemented on the agreed timelines
- Ensure that talents are properly identified and that they are discussed in the cross validation and succession plans
- Ensure that proper coaching is provided during the MAG discussions (midyear, yearend, or whenever the need arises).
- Ensure the adequate staffing of the team and the development and movement of talents are properly implemented
Requirements: - Bachelors / Masters degree (e.g. MBA, MSc); Major in Business Administration, Pharmaceutics
- Solid experience in pharmaceutical marketing at a managerial level (Minimum 8-10 years marketing and sales experience; Minimum 4-6 years leadership experience)
- A prior track record of success
- Good business and marketing acumen
- Customer orientated and with good strategy development skills
- Excellent project management skills and proven track record of effective execution
- Good relationship management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and database application
- Ability to travel as the position requires travel to the countries in ROPU SEASK (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam)
- Corporate environment experience / international experience
- More than 1.5 years of International exposure in daily business (
50% of international business/customers /staff)
