Description: The External Communications Manager is responsible for the full spectrum of external communications at BI ROPU SEASK. The job would lead proactive public campaigns, manage media relations, communicate financial results, crisis management communications (with Head of Comms, SEASK), building positive image and reputation for the company, develop brand awareness and promoting the company’s products and services through creative marketing-communications campaigns and events.
The position will be responsible for both businesses of Human Pharma and Animal Health for all the SEASK countries. It is a centralized function to be responsible for full regional strategy and local implementation.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Developing a fully integrated external communications strategy for traditional and social media, around the company’s objectives, products and services.
- Working cross-functionally across the highest levels of the business to create an effective narrative and build the brands image and identity, especially in product communication.
- Operating highly effective day-to-day media relations, managing proactive briefings with members of the press and handling enquiries, during office hours and out-of-hours.
- Managing, developing, maintaining and integrating digital channels into the External Communications strategy, including website and social media channels – with full collaboration with the Go-To Market team in SEASK
- Designing and delivering corporate and brand campaigns to influence the public policy agenda in Media’s favor to support brand communications and market access.
- Manage and support external tie ups and partnerships with governmental, private and non-governmental organization.
- Mapping the external stakeholder and develop relations required within the different markets.
- Designing and delivering creative events and activities to support product launches and drive public awareness.
- Managing external suppliers – including PR, social media and monitoring agencies – and a budget.
- Responsible for all daily online, print and social media monitoring and to deliver regular coverage reports related to the organization, competition and external stakeholders identified, to senior management and brand leads.
- Working closely with different brands leads and business leads to manage market-sensitive news and react accordingly, including development of statements.
- Lead the SEASK press office and support guidance to all countries for managing media quires.
- Develop press kits for all events and activities and media pitches. This will include the delivery of press released, biographies, factsheets, backgrounders, speeches, by-lined articles, company presentations and briefings.
- Develop qualitative/quantitative measures to gauge impact of communications.
- Preparing our executives and KOLs for media interactions and interviews.
- Be responsible for the multimedia content development and approval related to BI, its businesses and its brands including but not limited to videos, infographics, digital content, etc.
- Identify and build relationship with Patients Advocacy Groups and ensure partnership within different campaigns or events.
- Act as advocate to the Executives, Business Heads and Brand Leads on brand positioning for the general public and media.
- Coordinate with internal communications team to make sure that external activities are being communicated with employees
Requirements: Degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, Marketing, Marcomms or equivalent
At least 4-6 years of relevant working experience in public relations and communications (experience working in healthcare or in a PR agency is a plus
Have experience managing teams in a local or regional structure
Drive, competence, flexibility and a willingness to learn
Ability to work under pressure/ tight deadlines
Must be a team player and a self-starter
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills
Must be willing to travel when required
Excellent communication skills in English
