Mill Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Red Dog Mine, AK, US

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for an experienced Mill Maintenance Supervisor for the Mill Grinding Area. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role.
Rotation schedule will be two weeks onsite and one week offsite OR four weeks onsite and two weeks offsite.
Reporting to the General Supervisor, Mill Maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for supervising Mill Maintenance team members. The primary area of coverage will be the Mill Grinding area, to include 3 SAG Mills, 4 Ball Mills, 3 ISA Mills, 3 Tower Mills, several conveyor belt systems and all associated classifying and pumping equipment. Incumbent will plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance activities.
Responsibilities: - Be a Courageous Safety Leader, through promotion and adherence to established policies, procedures and safe work practices
- The Supervisor through effective communication with crew members will identify potential safety issues, personally follow through with corrective action in a timely manner and communicates progress to crew members. This includes timely follow up with safety meeting minutes and Supervisor Incident Reports (SIR's)
- Minimize disruptions to operations by responding quickly with available manpower and equipment.
- Set and monitor performance targets
- Assist in the development of NANA shareholders and the administration of the Apprenticeship Program by taking a personal interest in mentorship.
- The Supervisor will administer company policy, be involved in employee selection, promotions, and discharge
- The incumbent will provide input to the operating budget and participate in the cost and variance reviews.
- Effective communications with the crew and other management staff is of paramount importance, and it is the sole responsibility of the Supervisor to ensure the feedback to employees is effective
- The incumbent is a part of a maintenance team and cannot work in isolation from other groups, and will continually strive to maximize the effectiveness of the organization
- The Supervisor may be required to fill in at other positions as needed
- The incumbent is aware of the stle blower policyd has signed off on and will adhere to the pany's code of ethicsi>
- Support and initiation of continuous improvement initiatives, incident investigations, RCA's and 5 Why Reviews
- A high degree of focus is required with regards to clean up and site improvements in the incumbent's area of responsibility
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be a Journeyman Millwright with a minimum ten (10) years' experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Must have at least one (1) year of lead-hand Supervisory experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
- Be able to effectively communicate with the crew and all levels of management and ensure continual feedback
- Must be a team player, working closely with both operating and other maintenance staff and will continually strive to maximize the effectiveness of the organization
- Ensure ongoing development of all employees with a high focus on the apprenticeship development program
- Must have a working knowledge of MSHA Standards
- Excellent problem solving skills and decision making abilities
- Proven and exemplary leadership skills
