The Safety, Health, Environmental, and Affairs (SHEA) Coordinator/Maintenance Supervisor directs, leads, and
coordinates plant safety, health and/or environmental activities to assure compliance with regulatory, legal,
and corporate requirements utilizing economical, effective, and efficient concepts. Maintenace supervision
responsibilities include the direction, supervision, and coordination of maintenance activities in assigned areas
to ensure that equipment, buildings, and systems operate efficiently while meeting the overall facility objectives
and all safety, health, and environmental affairs.
Accountabilities - Lead facility contact for all SHEA programs and procedures that include Federal, State, and Local safety, health, and/or environmental regulations.
- Accountable for developing, leading, and maintaining the process/procedure of documentation related to the plant SHEA Evergreen, and any compliance programs and procedures.
- Leads safety health and/or environmental training for salaried, hourly, and new personnel, and maintains and/or monitors training records and documentation.
- Leads updates to existing programs and procedures in SHEA to improve effectiveness.
- Represents Glenshaw facility in NASS SHEA staff meetings and provides information to NASS SHEA staff when applicable.
- Provides technical information supporting the efforts of consultants and contractors participating in safety health and/or environmental projects or in plant activities with safety health and/or environmental impacts.
- Coordinates and leads facility projects during the early stages, to minimize or eliminate adverse impacts.
- Maintains records of facility audits, hazard assesments and inspections. Participates during governmental health, safety, and/or environmental inspections.
- Responsible for maintaining Industry Safe data entry and provides reporting as required.
- Maintain Workerompensation claims and escalates to HRBP when accomodations are requested.
- Lead facility contact for facility projects involving 3rd party contractors.
- Schedules and supervises internal maintenance crafts people or outside contractors in the execution of preventive, predictive, corrective, project and breakdown maintenance.
- Analyzes equipment failures and assures appropriate manent fix put in place.
- Utilizes judgment to determine priorities for maintenance work requests and works with requestors and area managers to assure work is planned appropriately.
- Identifies, prioritizes and helps coordinate or deliver maintenance training in their area of responsibility.
- Provides troubleshooting assistance to the maintenance skilled trades when needed.
- Audits maintenance work to ensure good practices are being maintained and standards are achieved.
- Reviews area maintenance costs and controls them within budget allowance. Responsible for improving costs in their area in accordance with the MCIP program.
- Conducts maintenance employee appraisals and addresses maintenance performance issues
Additional duties in program management as assigned.
Specific Accountabilities
- Position located in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.
- Time will be split between SHEA and Maintenance Supervison responsibilities.
- May also perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience - Associates Degree or 2 years or more in roles related to Safety, Health, Environmental/Maintenance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, SAP or other computerized systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, initiative, and ability to implement decisions with minimal supervision.
- Leadership experience and change management competencies.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- BA/BS Degree in technical field or comparible work experience in industry.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or maintenance.
- Exposure to Safety Health and/or Environmental Affairs and OSHA certifications.
- Lean Manufacturing.
- Practical technical understanding and good facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills and ability to prioritize and manage time to keep multiple initiatives effectively moving forward.
Working Relationships & Environment
- Reports to the Plant Manager.
- Collaborates with the Operations Supervisors and remote SHEA Manager (and support team), to align on program initiatives and processing improvements.
- Collaborates with the Operations Supervisors, Support Staff, and members of Management to ensure consistency in achieving goals, administering policies, and sharing best practices for continuous improvement.
- Direct supervison of maintenance team.
- Daily engagement with production hourly colleagues.
- Engages with external suppliers and contractors.
