As a Clinical Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise field Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Medical Social Workers, and Home Health Aides and may supervise some branch staff.
- Supervise the implementation of a physician's Plan of Care, coordinating activities with available resources. Conduct or delegate a periodic reassessment of client needs, and revise the Care Plan accordingly.
- Evaluate the level of healthcare staff skills and services provided, through regular review of client notes, feedback acquired from the client and family, and interaction with staff during case reviews. Oversee the maintenance of complete, current, and accurate client records.
- Assist Clinical Manager with the selection and orientation of new healthcare staff members.
- Participate in planning and presenting regular in-service education programs, keeping staff current on changes in healthcare procedures, and government regulations. Maintain records of in-services presented and employee attendance to assure any related government requirements are met.
- Assist in staff development, through the annual reviews of employee performance, and recommendations for promotion. Provide input in implementing staff disciplinary, probationary, or termination procedures.
- Keep informed of current caseloads in maintaining a balance between program service demands and priorities utilizing staff resources.
- Maintain on-going communication with staff through participation in conferences, and assistance in establishing short and long range goals.
- Counsel on interpreting nursing standards and company policies and procedures with all levels of the healthcare staff.
- Participate in regular Utilization Reviews, as required by the Clinical Manager.
- Interface effectively with referral sources and community resources. Active in local professional organizations and activities, staying current on new developments or techniques and promoting the company in the marketplace.
Required Skills
Qualifications - Bacheloregree or equivalent
- Registered Nurse
- Six months of supervisory experience, or one year of experience in home care is preferred
- Knowledge of home health agency regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to maintain a flexible schedule
