Facebook seeks a Policy Communications Director to guide a wide range of initiatives and programs for the Policy Communications team in APAC. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to build regional programs, manage issues and media relations in different countries and be highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented. This role is based in Singapore and will report to the Director, Comms for APAC.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assist or lead programs or issues at an APAC level
Develop and write a wide range of written material like press releases, blog posts, Q&As, and talking points
Counsel cross-functional partners in policy, legal, marketing and other groups within the company on a broad set of communications matters ranging from media engagement strategy to crisis management
Organize press briefings, media sessions, and events, prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience of complex policy issues on a national or international basis
Experience working with local and international media to achieve communications goals
Excellent oral and written communications skills, with a knack for capturing complex concepts, and conveying them in simple, meaningful language
Ability to work with policy colleagues and communications managers to define support for policy issues
Strong people skills - need to be able to work with people at all levels, of different nationalities and manage a wide variety stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum bachelors degree, post-graduate or professional degrees preferred
15+ years/proven successful track record of professional experience, both agency and in-house preferred
