Client Details A Switzerland based organization, my client is a specialist instrument and equipment maker that provides autonomous and sensor solutions across infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial industry.
Description Working on all product phases, you will be involved in end-to-end product design from product ideation to development stage including prototype testing and product ramp up during manufacturing.
Design parts, components, assemblies and sub-assemblies and systems meeting dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) engineering practices.
Perform structural simulation analysis to study behaviour of product and perform DOE (design of experiment) for design validation to ensure product safety factor.
With solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, materials science, evaluate module design and provide R&D support at production start-up and assembly line.
Improve product design by driving continuous improvement to increase manufacturing productivity and profitability while meeting the design safety and qualify of products.
Perform FMEA root failure analysis and conduct technical discussion on common design problems/parts failure with the local and Swiss R&D team.
Perform cost down engineering by innovating product design and liaising with Asia suppliers based to increase product line profitability.
Perform design process troubleshooting/optimization and tooling optimization to resolve any design and manufacturing issues or supplier issues.
Work closely with industrial engineering, quality assurance, procurement and supply chain team to assess the design feasibility and carry out actual R&D implementation mechanical design work.
Profile Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics with working experience in product design/R&D environment
Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in complex machine/equipment design, covering failure analysis, cost down engineering with strong GD&T experience.
Past experiences in casting and machining background would be a plus.
Proficient in 3D CAD software, good knowledge of NX Unigraphics is highly desirable.
