Supervisor, Central Sterile Processing Job, Full-time (1.0 FTE), Evenings, University of Chicago Medicine, Hyde Park, Illinois

We're hiring a Supervisor for Central Sterile Processing on the evening shift at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Hyde Park, Illinois.

The Supervisor, Cental Sterile Processing is responsible for maintaining departmental operation in the Central Sterile work area. This responsibility includes preparation of work schedules, job assignments, special requests and performing related duties as assigned. In addition, assure the organization and cleanliness and environmental compliance of decontamination, sterilization and storage areas. Will be proficient in available technology, i.e. SPM inventory management system. We be required to use independent judgment in the discharge of their duties.

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Certification for Central Service Technician required.
• Thorough knowledge of OR instrumentation with medical terminology and operating room process required.
• Must have 5 years as a CS technician and previous experience in leadership.
• Must possess knowledge of all modalities of sterilization.
• Be able to act as resource to all subordinate staff as well as customer population.
• Basic computer knowledge required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• RN, LPN, or OR Tech with OR experience preferred.
• Case Cart and inventory experience a plus.
• Experience in dealing with employees covered under bargaining unit contracts highly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

Certification for Central Service Technician required.
