Twitter is looking for a seasoned engineering leader for our Singapore engineering office. We are currently a small team of data scientists, data engineers, network engineers, and performance engineers who are looking to grow our engineering presence in Singapore. Our teams support the Twitter international growth and performance efforts. Twitter Singapore is also home to a sizeable Sales contingent and we often collaborate cross-functionally to support Twitter efforts across the APAC region.
What You'll Do You'll work with our data science and engineering teams on site in Singapore to foster a positive engineering culture, fixing or escalating site-related challenges, driving hiring and recruiting efforts, advocating for team growth, growing engineering leaders of tomorrow in Singapore and representing Twitter in the larger Singapore and Southeast Asian tech community. The role frequently involves working with our senior engineering leaders and the engineering leads in our other sites.
Who You Are We're looking for a seasoned Director of Engineering, who is comfortable working with teams across the stack, but preferably has some prior experience in data science, systems engineering or mobile. The ideal candidate has thought deeply about culture, hiring and building healthy engineering teams across multiple geographies.

- The ability to work collaboratively across a large engineering organization, both in terms of scale and in terms of mission complexity. Passion for growing healthy distributed teams and collaborative environments.
- Experience building an inclusive engineering culture, with teams that are eager to help and learn and deeply curious. You'll need to mentor disparate engineering groups beyond your org, so the expectation is that you can foster a culture that attracts, mentors and retains outstanding engineering talent.
- A history of working tirelessly to hire and close a diverse set of talented engineers at all levels of seniority.
- A creative and independent streak -- we'll be relying on you to make important decisions and to lead independently, since you'll be the lead for the site.
Requirements - 5+ years of engineering management experience, overseeing organisations of at least 20 people+.
- Strong people management and experience coaching and growing managers.

- Willing to travel frequently (5-7 times a year), both to SF HQ and other Twitter sites
