Essential and optional requirements 3. Additional Duties
Work with Marketing Department to implement marketing and promotions plans to retain and recruit customers
Participate in weekly hotel management meetings
Review latest industry info and trends, network regularly with equipment and product vendors to maximize relationship
Conduct monthly “mystery shopping” for each team member
Maintain the emphasis on customer service and satisfaction
Key tasks The Director of Spa's overall responsibilities are to manage the day to day operations of the spa to include staff management, quality assurance, evolving customer service / problem resolution, inventory maintenance, and the achievement of retail and service goals.
Staff Management
Overall goal is to develop, motivate and lead staff members to achieve their best by providing leadership and specific performance goals and expectations.
Manage personnel under own supervision including staff development training, counselling, disciplining and evaluating
Recruits, hires and trains all spa staff
Performs appraisals and conducts staff reviews
Maintains satisfactory performance standards among all levels of supervised employees
Maintain detailed records on personnel issues
Manages payroll to include: commission spreadsheet for both therapists and guest services officers
Trains new staff on standards procedures, booking procedures, customer service problem resolution techniques
Emphasis on excellent communicates to spa staff via daily team briefings, and “one on one” meetings as required
Approves all schedules (Therapists, Guest Services and Public Area teams) ensuring appropriate coverage during peak and non-peak times
Mediates problems amongst staff members
Leads monthly team meetings ensuring that specific topics / issues are communicated to and addressed with team members
2. Operations Excellence
Overall goal is to assure the staff operates with peak efficiency and productivity through coordination and knowledge of operating budgets.
Responsible for inventory purchasing and control for products, equipment and supplies
Oversees retail including deliveries, monthly inventories, displays and achievement of monthly goals
Ensures that there are appropriate stock levels for all products both on the floor and in the stock room
Review and track product sales
Reviews spa appointments daily in SpaBooker system and ensure maximum bookings
Ensures proper opening / closing procedures are adhered to, to include cash registers, closing / retail reports and manager's walkthrough are properly filled out
Responsible for the general maintenance of facility (in conjunction with Engineering Department) by conducting daily walkthrough, delegating and following through on housekeeping of internal and external areas always ensuring a clean, fully functioning spa
Approves all orders for the following expenses: office supplies, laundry, postage and travel
