Title: IT Accounting Analyst

Position Summary:

IT Accounting Analyst for a fast paced environment. This position will report to the Sr. Finance and Reporting Manager. Responsible for ensuring all Information Technology expenses are paid. This includes reviewing, budget confirmation and processing of invoices for payment. Prepare monthly accounting accruals, adjusting entries and detailed account reconciliations. Work closely with internal IT management to explain cost drivers, variances and assist with forecast and budget development. Responsible for submitting all new and renewing contracts. Support additional IT spend analytics and reporting for major spend areas and Strategic Initiatives. Responsible for invoicing councils on current technology offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process all invoices for the Information Technology department, volume approximately 2,500 annually
• Work with the IT Project Managers to ensure invoices are accurate and confirm budget availability
• Facilitate communication between the vendor, accounts payable team and IT team.
• Responsible for monthly accruals, adjusting entries and detailed account reconciliations
• Responsible for Council invoicing
• Responsible for contract submissions for all IT new and renewing contracts. Working with the Project Manager, Procurement, Legal and Finance is responsible for ensuring that all new and renewing IT contracts are executed
• Request and maintain Purchase Orders for Information Technology
• Assist with process improvement and automation of current business processes

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3 years minimum experience in Accounting, Finance or business
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices
• Forecasting and budgeting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills a plus
• Ability to multitask, set priorities and make decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior billing, accounts receivable or payable experience required
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization in a professional manner
• Knowledge of Abila are a plus
