Functions/Duties of Position
The Business Data Analyst gathers, compiles and reports on information and statistical data for rehabilitation services and assist in analyzing and drafting this information in narrative or graphical formats. This includes patient adherence statistics, operational metrics such as productivity, clinical information for example visit length and change over time for clinical and patient-reported outcomes, referral trends and alert mechanisms, reporting from databases as well as retrieval of information from the electronic record. The individual creates spreadsheet/pivot table, database, etc. to enable recording, tracking, reporting of information related to operations and quality improvement. The individual also orders and tracks supply utilization, assists with the onboarding on new staff, uses Epic (electronic health record) for scheduling patients and reporting, creates new provider templates with emphasis on efficiency and makes template adjustments; builds and maintains content on the website. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy of work, use of several systems, and confidentiality.
Job Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors degree in a business field and 6 months of experience that included analytical, database, spreadsheet and/or financial experience, technical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
- Associates degree in a business field plus two years of experience that included analytical, database, spreadsheet and/or financial experience, technical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
- Four years of experience that included analytical, database, spreadsheet and/or financial experience, technical writing, quantitative analysis or use of statistical principles; OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Hospital/Clinical environment, day hours, travel between facilities
- Computer proficiency for navigating an electronic medical record efficiently
- High level of experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Frequent walking (
33% of the day) and sitting (33-66% of the day) * Communication / speaking / hearing for telephonic communication
- Physical mobility sufficient for managing inventory of supplies and periodic assistance with clinical environment (moving supplies, equipment, changing linen, routine cleaning - reaching, etc.)
- Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Healthcare experience with data management and use of computer systems
