The Business Systems Analyst III provides general systems analysis, and task ownership for Managed Care applications - Epic Tapestry. This position is considered intermediate level within the IS Business Applications job family. Of particular importance in this role is the application of the Managed Care industry and work flows and applying systematic solutions in the Epic Tapestry module.
The Business Systems Analyst III works under supervision from senior team members and may be involved in managing portions of large projects or entire small projects. Individuals are accountable for the success of assigned tasks (i.e. Maintenance of business, break/fix, enhancements), and functions as a point of user contact for the Managed Care Tapestry team, and is accountable for user satisfaction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Reviews and develops application build/design specifications related to Epic Tapestry.
- Collaborate with other application support teams to ensure seamless integration
- Consults and advises users, management, vendors, and others concerning the purpose, features, functions and proper uses of new and existing applications, modules, and systems
- Develops and maintains an ongoing awareness of MemorialCare’s healthcare information systems initiatives, emerging technologies, and relevant laws and regulations in providing ongoing and competent support for assigned areas of responsibility
- Maintain regular contact and serve as liaison for Information Services to ensure communication, collaboration, and teamwork between end users, departmental managers, IT and other service providers/partners
Experience At least three years’ experience as systems analyst, application specialist or equivalent business experience within Managed Care or the Epic Tapestry application. Strong written and verbal communication skills: Practices open and honest communication demonstrating support and empathy. Respectfully asks questions and practices active listening to gain full understanding of diverse perspectives. Effectively conveys both written and oral communication to achieve mutual understanding. Working knowledge of Managed Care industry, Tapestry application, and CMS regulations. Successful involvement in re-engineering and implementing systematic process improvement. Significant and successful project management exposure. Experience in presenting to groups and leading meetings, preferred.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Business, and/or licensed healthcare professional preferred.
- Certification(s) in at least two of the following: Tapestry Core or Tapestry Eligibility and Enrollment and Tapestry CRM, AP Claims and Contracts or Tapestry AP Claims and Contracts and Accounts Payable, Benefit Engine AP Claims, Tapestry Utilization and Cost Tracking or Tapestry Case Management and Referrals.
