Position Summary Dow Jones Data Strategy business group's Content Curation team sits within the Custom Research group and is responsible for the creation and delivery of curated content features across a range of Professional Information Business (PIB) products. The team is responsible for building and maintaining web content; building and maintaining expert search queries, including dynamic “trending topics,” for click-and-go access by clients; assessing client needs and preparing customized newsletters to meet those needs; and building and maintaining Factiva product features including Homepages, Newsstand, Factiva Expert Search, Web Content in Factiva.com; and bespoke corporate newsletters for our clients.
The Singapore-based Content Curation team supports curation work in the APAC time-zone and handles assignments in any of the following languages: Bahasa, Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean. Reporting to the Director, Content Curation based in Princeton, the Content Manager is to perform and oversee the work assigned to the Singapore-based regional team. He or she will provide the necessary leadership, support, coaching and training of team members required to ensure performance excellence and quality output. The manager is expected to spend approximately 60% of his or her time on operational duties and 40% of his or her time on talent management. Proficiency in English plus either Chinese or Japanese is required; additional Asian languages helpful.
Key Responsibilities Liaising with the Content Curation global teams and Director, Content Curation, ensuring a constant flow of communication, knowing when to escalate issues to the relevant stakeholder(s).
Perform and oversee the operations of the team: including quality newsletters (samples and trials), expert searches, analytics and new and maintained web content.
Manage Content Curation assignments within agreed timelines. This includes the ability to interpret client requirements and develop curation methods and practices to meet them.
Oversee management of third-party partners who assist in meeting the team's workload.
Support evolving curation business and partnerships per project milestones.
Identify trends and develop and implement plans for improvement to ensure required customer satisfaction levels.
Actively support the business by interacting regularly with Sales and clients. Proactively follow up on opportunities, answer questions, encourage sales to include the team in client meetings and events.
Coach, mentor and manage a highly dedicated team of content analysts to achieve Dow Jones's output/quality/timeliness targets.
Establish goals, tools and resources for the team, identify developmental needs, coaching process improvement and provide recommendations to management.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Minimum of five years of experience in content management. This should include a thorough understanding of Boolean search logic and how that logic is applied in Dow Jones and Factiva applications.
Ability to lead a team with a focus on talent development, coaching, growth and motivation.
Oral and written communication skills in at least one of the local Asian languages with the ability to read, select and translate articles, Boolean searches, and edit reports.
Demonstrated the ability to handle the methods used to develop, serve and maintain curated content offerings in our products.
Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency by responding immediately to escalated issues and rapidly changing priorities.
Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy under pressure situations.
Motivated, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
Must be a proactive self-starter who values personal accountability and ownership, and thrives, working under limited direction.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior management as well as motivate, coach and mentor.
Ability to assimilate complex product knowledge and identify appropriate solutions.
Previous experience in managing/coaching/motivating a research/editorial team.
