The primary role of the Logistics & Planning Analyst is to serve as a liaison with outsourced transportation management and 3PL warehouses to ensure day to day transportation activities are completed accurately and timely. This is a highly independent rose where the employee will be expected to assess situations and make decisions on an ongoing basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the day to day management and relationship of all 3PL providers.
Assesses daily situations that arise and identifies best plan of action. Implements all deliverables in a timely fashion.
Manages the integrity of the logistics payment process.to include invoice auditing and payment coding.
Creates freight and warehouse financial reporting which demonstrates fiscal period performance to standards, historical spend, and developed benchmarks. Calculates and maintains fiscal savings reports outlining savings tracking for implemented projects
Acts as liaison and primary focal point for project leads, department managers and other functional areas within the company, to develop process accuracy, project management / project implementation.
Identifies and executes continuous improvement opportunities.
Ensures that carrier data is current and accurate within our transportation planning system.
Works cross-functionally to maintain on time shipping expectations, and identifies/ implements solutions for improvements when needed.
Liaises with Customer Service, Sales, Legal, Data Governance and Information Technology as needed.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Education / Experience / Skill / Competence Requirements
Education: Bacheloregree
Experience: 1-3 years of Transportation / Logistics, business, and analytical experience. Knowledge of contracts and freight modes preferred.
Skill/Competence:
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks/projects at a time, with the ability to change focus from time to time.
Strong problem solving skills & project management skills needed to develop strategies and ensuring identification and inclusion of all key contingencies when evaluating situational opportunities.
Mathematical skills are essential in order to analyze and assess situations as well as the identification of improvement projects.
Creativity and Analytical Skills necessary to interpret and guide special projects through the What If stages to Buy In and Implementation stages.
Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully and succinctly in variety of communication mediums, settings, and styles, listens and gets clarification, responds to questions.
Equipment/Software:
Must be proficient to advanced level in Excel with knowledge in functions such as pivot tables and vlookups. SAP or ERP system experience a plus.
