The Freight Analyst is responsible executing research on the third-party shipments and determining the divergences of the freight. They are required to originate the provider freight decrements on the unmanageable shipment costs. He also plays an important role in supplying the freight reports to the merchandising unit. It is expected of him to prepare an investigation of the freight information for promotional purposes
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Transportation Management System (TMS) databases of logistics information.
- Review freight rates and pay approve or disapprove fright invoices as necessary
- Prepare various progress reports of the freights scheduled by the organization such as the accessory monetary values, fuel charges, and overall expenditure of freights of the organization.
- One of the main reports that the individual is required to create is the monthly KPI report. The KPI report provides a detailed statement about the performance of the organization in different areas of its working
- Provide the cost of the fuel over and above the actual cost of the freight in the 'fuel charge' report. This helps the hauler to refund the extra charges that might have incurred during the execution of the freights.
- Calculate the charges that are excluding the normal freight costs. These charges may include storage charges, internal transportation charges, waiting time charges, etc.
- Ensure that there is timeliness and wholeness in the data related to the freights of the organization
- Provide a quotation of the rates of the freights including the tax rate and perform the work of examining documents related to the freights.
- Ensures that the data registered in the information systems of the organization are correct and precise without any inaccuracy involved in it. Calculates the number of contracts received by the organization and includes in data.
Working hours: M-F 8am,-5pm
Skills: COMMUNICATION SKILLS: --Ability to comprehend and foster complex customer and coworker relationships
--Exceptional written and oral communication skills
--Must be comfortable directing and dispatching multiple drivers on various routes within the Southern region
--Excellent problem solving skills with acute attention to detail
--Research and compile logistics information from various data streams
TECHNICAL SKILLS: --Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft PowerPoint
--A working knowledge of TMS or the ability to learn
--Familiarity with various web based database products and a willingness to learn new systems
--Working knowledge of BUS and other ERP systems
--We will train the incumbent as needed, but a strong background in software and comprehension of logistic database systems is required for the role
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: --Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related field
--Internship experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or Operations Management
--Experience providing professional entry-level duties, solving more immediate problems, and working to develop a deeper and broader understanding of Logistics operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS --Project Management experience
--Excellent communication/presentation skills
