Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for data gathering, preparation and finalization of various partnership state tax returns and partner state composite and separate individual income tax returns, including the preparation of supporting detailed workpapers. 1. Tax Compliance and Preparation- Data gathering, preparation, and finalization of various partnership state tax return extension, partner state composite income tax return extensions, and any partnership or partner composition returns (including any elections or affidavits) that may be filed, including preparation of supporting detailed workpapers- Analysis of relevant income and expense items to determine proper tax treatment for various state filings.- Preparation of partnership and partner group estimated income tax payments on a quarterly basis. Education and/or Relevant experience:- Bachelor's degree in tax or accounting.- 6+ years of experience preparing flow through entity returns (4+ years), primarily state returns, preferably in the tax department of an accounting firm or financial services company.- CPA and/or MS in tax a plus. Knowledge and skills (general and technical):- Extensive experience in preparing federal and state partnership and partner (composite and separate) income tax returns. - ProSystem tax return preparation software knowledge/experience/ proficiency is critical especially for partnership state tax return filings.- Microsoft Office and internet-based research skills (eg., CCH, BNA).- Ability to work in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.- Highly organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills. Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required):- Ability to have expectation of results based on facts, circumstances and understanding of how certain tax concepts work to recognize potential errors without solely relying on tax preparation software to give a sense of assurance.
