Carnegie Mellon Universityffice of Sponsored Programs is searching for a Contract Analyst. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. As a contract analyst, you will be responsible for providing professional level support in the area of preparation and negotiation of agreements. These agreements may include federal contracts, educational project agreements, non-disclosure agreements, visitor agreements, software licenses, material transfer agreements, outgoing subcontracts, and other agreements as required. You, in conjunction with a Contract Officer or Subcontracts Administrator, will exercise independent judgment to ensure that the aforementioned contractual agreements are entered into on terms that are acceptable to the Carnegie Mellon University.
Core responsibilities include:
- Initiating contract process with faculty and/or sponsor and shepherding agreements though full lifecycle from concept to completion.
- Reviewing legal and contractual issues of proposed agreements to revise and negotiate agreements to comply with university policies and relevant laws related to sponsored research
- Reviewing federal contracting clauses and maintaining the federal clause database of Universitytandard position for each clause.
- Assisting Contracts Officers with negotiating Sponsored Research Agreements.
- Documenting and monitoring the contract negotiation lifecycle.
- Monitoring OSP mailboxes, logging incoming requests to departmental tracking system, gathering information necessary for drafting agreements, and communicating with departments regarding requests.
- Assisting Subcontracts Administrator by processing fully executed subcontract agreements, including official University transmittal, creation of purchase orders, and maintenance of OSP databases.
- Preparing and submitting monthly Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act reporting.
- Preparing non-financial amendments to subcontracts using the Federal Demonstration Partnership templates.
Qualifications: - Bacheloregree required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required
- Strong analytical and communication skills required
- Excellent time management and decision making skills required
- Prior experience in University research administration preferred. Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement preferred
