Functions/Duties of Position
This position as an Epic PeriOp Application Coordinator with a focus on anesthesia, will (1) Understand and document curent PeriOp workflows (2)Understand EpicCare/Epic PeriOp functionality and determine what functionality is feasible and within scope to implement (3) Develop, document, test and validate workflows utilizing EpicCare/Epic PeriOp functionality (4) Provide clear, professional communication with Epic users, Epic team members and OHSU Leadership (5) Set clear, realistic expectations for users and Leadership in conjunction with the OpTime/Anesthesia team and project leadership.
Job Requirements Master's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and two years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Associate's degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and five years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate's degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years experience as a nurse or other healthcare provider in an OR area or related area of care or 2+ years of experience in Healthcare Information Systems analysis, development and implementation
- Ability to work in a highly autonomous role by demonstrating self-motivation and creativity in design approach
- Ability to function and communicate effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to proactively pursue problem resolution to satisfy customer needs
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks efficiently while successfully meeting assigned deadlines
- Superior written, verbal and oral communication skills, including excellent customer service skills
- Proven ability to regularly prioritize work as it is assigned and as it develops
- Proven ability to communicate with and educate customers at all professional level
- Ability to build relationships, respect and trust with customers and co-workers
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Working knowledge and understanding of project coordination and management
- Working knowledge of hospital operations and the patient care process
