Medline Industries is looking for an experienced System Analyst and Developer experienced in SharePoint 2013/2016 to work on our company Intranet called The Source. This position will collaborate with business units, project management and technical staff in defining enhancements for the platform as well as providing technical support for its users.
We have over 9,000 employees relying on the Intranet on a daily basis for employee news, calendars/events, company communications, product information, documentation, discussion boards, company directory etc.
This position can be based at either our Northfield, IL headquarters or in our downtown Chicago office. No matter which office you are based out of, there will be a need to travel to the other office on occasion. (Occasional travel to our Mundelein office in the first 1-2 months may also be required).
Job Responsibilities - Lead discussions with the business to gather business requirements for enhancements
- Uses in depth knowledge of SharePoint to come up with solution designs for requirements from the business.
- Deeply understands the following SharePoint concepts for solution designing sts, sites, site collections, themes, pages, security, search, content types, taxonomy, web parts, templates, document libraries, SharePoint administration.
- Brainstorm different approaches with the SharePoint Architect and developers to come up with technical approaches to solving business problems
- Develop proof of concepts or screen mock ups for the business stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into functional documentation that can be handed off to the developer for development.
- Translate functional documentation into technical design documentation that can be used for development.
- Works with guidance from SharePoint Tech Lead/Architect.
- Development and deployment of solutions using .NET and C#.
- Provide support for the entire user base of the company Intranet.
- Work closely with the business sponsorn content entry questions and support issues.
- Ability to train business users on new functionality and using SharePoint.
- Open to working on other applications other than SharePoint utilizing .NET, C#, SQL development skills.
Qualifications Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in SharePoint development and/or support related tasks.
- Understands all the different technologies that are used for SharePoint development ML, CSS, JavaScript, Web API, JSON, .NET, C#, SQL, Web Services, and PowerShell.
- Understands SharePoint Configuration / Administration for development.
- Understand SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow.
- Experience in developing SharePoint 2013 sites using App Model
- Demonstrated experience working with third party plugs-ins for broken links, metric reporting and Share Gate for data manipulation.
- Ability to write and execute PowerShell scripts to maintain SharePoint.
- Experience working with single page applications.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, My Sites, SharePoint User Profiles and how they integrate with SharePoint.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization from senior level business executives to technical development staff.
- Understands how to review SharePoint logs and troubleshoot system and application errors.
- Ability to work independently to research issues or enhancement requests and present multiples ideas for resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
Nice to haves
- Ability to support custom Forms using Knock Out, JavaScript, JQuery.
- Past experience with SharePoint 2010.
