Job Description: Organizational Overview

Role Overview As ALPS, a DST company continues to grow and expand our offerings to clients; we are looking for a Fund Data Analyst to assist in daily operations associated with the modernization of SEC Reporting. As the Data Analyst you will work to streamline data workflow between internal departments, vendors and clients specific to SEC Report Modernization while identifying techniques in extracting data from internal and external systems. You will work under minimal supervision as we work towards streamlining the data flow and reporting function.
Responsibilities - Work with internal business units and external partners to understand how to pull data related to SEC Report Modernization requirements for investment companies
- Stay up to date with SEC Modernization requirements, familiarizing oneself with the ever changing environment, making suggestions on how to improve data flow and extraction practices.
- Using technical skills, assist in gathering, reviewing and analyzing data requirements
- Review and validate incoming data work streams
- Assist in resolving complex fund issues related to SEC Report Modernization data and filings
- Adhere to regulatory deadlines as set upon our clients, ensuring reports are delivered in a timely manner
- Work alongside the data manager to respond to client inquiries, including outside auditors and fund counsel, for SEC Report Modernization reporting
- Provide guidance on treatment of complex financial transactions to ensure proper identification in regulatory reports specific to SEC Report Modernization disclosures
- Prepare and review SEC Report Modernization summary reports to clients as necessary
Qualifications - Strong project management/business analyst experience with proven track record
- Broad understanding of business processes and data management functions (collection, analysis, distribution) including downstream impacts
- Advanced analytical and technical skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues
- Technical understanding of various investment types including derivatives, fixed income and equities
- Experience in mutual fund accounting/reporting, including U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
- Understanding of financial instruments and compliance with regulatory bodies
- Working experience supporting Mutual Fund Accounting, Custodial Reconciliation and Familiarity with Investment Accounting applications and software (InvestOne, Confluence Unity, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Lipper)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Bacheloregree and 3 years of work-related experience, or Masteregree and 1 year of work-related experience, or 5 years equivalent work-related experience
