The primary purpose of this position is to Elicit, analyze, and document requirements electronic record development using techniques such as brain storming, gap analysis, and work flow diagrams. This position must have an extensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and activities within each phase. Strong communication, written and facilitation skills are imperative as well as techniques to plan and manage the requirements process. Application deployment and training skills are also needed.
Requirements Elicitation:
Prepares in advanced for elicitation sessions.
Has knowledge of and utilizes techniques and tools such as brainstorming, gap analysis, focus groups, observation, As-Is and To-Be workflows to obtain requirements.
Consistently works with Stakeholders to determine the business need and high level requirements.
Obtain complete, concise requirements with stakeholder approval within designated timeline.
Is assertive, defuses tense situations and facilitates requirement gathering sessions.
Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
Coordinates and facilitates work across different departments.
Requirements Analysis:
Determines other applications effected by new functionality and overlap.
Outlines operational and implementation challenges and works to mitigate.
Evaluates existing enhancement requests which can be incorporated into current projects.
Develops report requirements and strategies for applications
Performs technical assessments and evaluates proposed IT technologies and solutions to determine technical feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
Maintains current knowledge of requirements/mandates from JCAHO, CMS,Institutional Policies & Procedures and other regulatory/accrediting bodies and incorporates them into the requirements.
Requirements Documentation:
Demonstrates knowledge and application of Use Case Model, Use Case, UI -Specifications and Test Case documentation using UML methodology.
Documents unambiguous, succinct requirements.
Supplements requirements with workflow diagrams.
Traces requirements consistently.
Efficiently updates documentation throughout review cycles.
Requirements Planning and Management:
Provides consistent feedback of project status to Project Manager and Manager Participates in User Acceptance testing Maintains effective communication with project team members and management.
Utilizes requirements work plan.
Provides estimation and documentation of Business Analyst work.
Systems Deployment (Training and Rollout):
Determines learning needs for customer end-users and/or IS team members based on user roles and application functionality.
Prepares and conducts continuing education training sessions for users and coworkers, as necessary.
Develops role-based programs and supporting materials for end-user training using principles of adult learning.
Coordinates and schedules training sessions with customer groups as needed.
Provides go-live support during rollout period.
Experience Required: One to Three years experience in project management and/or workflow analysis.
Additional related experience may be substituted for the required education degree on a one to one year basis.
