SUMMARY The Accounts Receivable (AR) Dispute Resolution Analyst will report directly to the Credit and Collections Manager and be responsible for overseeing and managing customer deductions. The role will partner with internal and external customers to resolve disputes and mitigate losses due to delinquencies and irreconcilable discrepancies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Prepare accounts receivable aging report for assigned accounts and review/discuss findings, recommendations, and strategic approaches to resolving customer deductions with the Credit and Collections Manager.
- Correctly identify and classify deductions after they have been remitted.
- Partner with internal and external partners to assist with resolving deductions.
- Review vendor agreements/contracts to assist with understanding and identifying allowances and agreed upon programs and use agreements/contracts to ensure proper credits/debits are issued.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide solutions to complex situations that arise from customer deductions on a regular basis.
- Prepare clear and detailed written correspondence to customers regarding dispute resolution.
- Assist with improving policies and procedures to maximize productivity and collections and minimize bad debt.
- Provide monthly reporting on accounts receivable such as aging analysis, status of outstanding deductions, and bad debt analysis.
- Interact with customers on a daily basis regarding credit and debit memos.
- Document all customer contact and workflow status in SAP and Excel.
- Actively supports Pelicanuality Objectives and contributes to Quality Management System activities as assigned.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Credit and Collections Manager.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
- AA degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and/or 7+ years accounting experience with 5+ years dispute resolution experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel utilizing functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables to reconcile large amounts of data on a daily basis.
- Basic knowledge of accounting functions and procedures
- Must have experience resolving disputes and reconciling payments within a high-volume capacity and fast-paced environment.
- Must have experience with reconciling and resolving disputes with Box Retailers.i>
- Must have experience with processing credit memos and debit memos.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be detail-orientated, organized, and able to prioritize workload
- Must be proficient in SAP or other ERP systems
- Must have some experience with reviewing vendor agreements/contracts
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by Credit and Collections Manager
- Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
