Business Technical Analyst

Job Description

Apply knowledge of business and technology to allow for the development of integrated solutions to resolve technical and business issues. Serve as a liaison between business partners and the IT department during the initial phases of development efforts for various business initiatives. Define specifications for development efforts and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and discovery workshops
• Conduct current state assessments of business processes and supporting systems
• Perform gap and data analysis in support of identifying improvement opportunities
• Support developers by providing functional clarification and setting expectations with team and client
• Identify, document, and manage change; transition delivered solution to end users
• Plan and execute test plans and test cases; ensure overall quality of solution
• Document, socialize, and triage issues, defects, and enhancement requests
• Author and create design artifacts such as: Functional design specifications, process and data flow diagrams
• Manage traceability matrices, change requests, test plans and test cases, user guides, capability discovery and delivery roadmaps
• Work with on-shore and off-shore development teams

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• 3-5 years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst or equivalent role
• Experience gathering, documenting requirements and leading working sessions
• Experience Application Development a plus
• True ability to write business requirements
• SQL Skills; Data/ Data warehousing experience
• Someone who is proactive

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to solve problems, identify solutions, and appropriately escalate issue
