GENERAL SUMMARY: The IT Finance, Financial Analyst - will support the IT/BI/PSID functions with monthly accounting, reporting, and analysis. This individual will also assist with internal financial reporting, the monthly financial forecasting process and the annual budgeting processes.

- Governance for IT Projects including communication of policies and accounting standards
- Strong communication skills - able to prepare and document policies and global guidelines
- Assess the viability and ROI for projects and initiatives proposed by IT.
- Generate internal reports on a monthly basis in order to compare actual costs to budgeted/forecasted expenses.
- Meet with Department managers to review financial performance against plan and to obtain updates for forward looking forecasts.
- Investigate significant variances between planned and actual expenses.
- Maintain and update the database of maintenance and service contracts. Initiate and manage the process of considering contracts for renewal.
- Provide analysis and updates to accounting each month on incurred expenses that have not been processed for payment (accruals).
- Update the Operational Expense forecast every month.
- Contribute to the annual planning process.
- Ad hoc research and report generation as requested by the Finance Team, Information Technology, Business Intelligence group and Schools.
- Review and process invoices for payment as necessary.
External Requirements Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required, CPA or Master's degree preferred
- Previous Experience working in accounting with experience in Corporate Accounting preferred
- Skills and proficiency in data analytics using mathematical tools (i.e. databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
- 4-6 years of experience with a strong analytical track record
- Understanding of budgets, forecasts, project management and contract management (Purchase Orders)
- Prior experience working with financial models, IT projects, financial systems, business intelligence or databases preferred.
- Prior experience working with internal and external auditors, familiar with SOX guidelines
- Prior experience with IT system implementation and exposure to an ERP system (ie. PeopleSoft)
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
- Must have experience working on multiple projects at the same time
- Excellent communication skills; multi-lingual a plus (English/Spanish)
- Familiarity with financial statements (i.e. Income Statement, Balance Sheet)
- Strong understanding of Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
