A fantastic opportunity is available for Financial Analyst - Freight to join our Supply Finance team.
The Financial Analyst is a strong performer position that combines Financial Planning & Analysis, Controlling and Accounting in one role that has high materiality exposure and importance for the company. Responsibilities include proper management of our freight related reporting, through the analysis of data, forecasting for accuracy, procure to pay as well as preparation of freight related account reconciliations. This person will play a crucial role in maintaining financial controls as well as ensuring adherence to corporate accounting policies & procedures. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners including General Accounting, Logistics Operations, Transportation, and Third Party Carrier Management; this role will have great exposure within the organization. The role is suited for a career-minded individual ready to advance as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities - Monthly close of the accounting books including regional consolidation, supplemental reporting schedules and commenting on the drivers behind the results
- Reconcile asset and liability balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis for content and accuracy
- Generate and post journal entries for account adjustments and reclassification where necessary
- Controlling
- Work with key stakeholders to verify compliance of logistics processes to Global Financial Controls Framework and Accounting Policies
- Captures process outages and addresses issues proactively
- Support Internal and External audit requirements
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Work on a cross-functional team to help gain alignment and understanding of changes in volume, market fluctuations and translate into Forecast updates
- Business Partnering
- Interact face to face with cross- functional teams with confidence and credibility
- Partner with Logistics Transportation Team to improve operational processes and find opportunities to freight costing accuracy
- Projects
- Help further develop a robust freight control panel to further enhance our controls environment
- Perform special projects, timely and accurately, as requested by senior management
Is this you?
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting preferred
- 1 to 2 years of Accounting or Finance experience
- Strong analytical, leadership, inter-personal, and communication skills, with the ability to transform data into insights
- Adept multi-tasker who can prioritize and manage multiple requirements with tight timelines
- An eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas is required
- Strong systems understanding of JD Edwards and TM1 is an asset
- Career Perspective: Category Finance, Customer Finance or Senior Financial Analyst are potential future assignments
