OVERVIEW L3 Technologies - Advanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) is a world leader in the development and production of advanced laser rangefinders, designators, targeting systems and components. Based in Orlando, FL, ALST supports all branches of the United States Military, allied nations, OEM customers, border security and development labs.
POSITION PURPOSE The Configuration Analyst II is part of a multi-disciplinary team defining, implementing and controlling configuration baselines. This position utilizes company policies and procedures to track and manage configuration items in an Engineering and Production environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Uses company configuration management (CM) processes to define, implement and control configuration baselines in a fast-paced environment.
Utilize software-based CM tools to store, track and manage configuration items.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Responsible for control of all engineering documentation during R&D and product development.
Manages documentation changes to include developing, distributing, and tracking approved Configuration Control Board (CCB) actions. Provides meeting support to include scheduling, capturing minutes and chairing the CCB.
Develops top-down master data lists that accurately define configuration baselines.
Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness, proper authorization and system updates.
Authorizes the release of drawings and software configuration changes throughout the product development process.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely implementation of change requests and change orders.
Supports audits (internal, external, third party) in order to verify that quality requirements have been met.
Provide work direction and guidance to staff to assure completion of assigned tasks and other duties.
Responsible for procedure reviews and assisting process owners with procedure updates.
Assure that all company personnel are adequate training in the principals, policies, and procedures of the configuration management system.
All other assignments as required.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years' configuration management / document control experience.
Experience in a Defense Contracting, or a DoD environment required, military laser or electro-optical development preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Understanding of the fundamentals of configuration management.
Knowledge of drawing and drafting using computer aided drawing software.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to review/update processes/procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Knowledge of electronic record and electronic signature requirements.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be a United States Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR - 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.
