Job Description The primary purpose of this role is to take initial requests for
support and initiate and coordinate activities to facilitate proper functioning
of Lowe's hardware and software. This
includes responsibility for providing support services on Lowe's technologies
to all users in stores, distribution network, corporate offices, regional
offices, divisional, and real estate offices.
Responsibilities: · Analyzes and prioritizes
incoming requests for support from Lowe's personnel received via phone, voice mail,
or email
· Troubleshoots in conjunction
with caller to identify problem, attempts to resolve problem, and escalates as
necessary to appropriate resource
· Initiates resolution of
problems through appropriate internal resources
· Logs details of problems, ongoing
statuses, and resolutions in the Remedy Call Management System
· Provides vendors with access
to systems, assists in further problem determination, and dispatches additional
service from vendors if required
· Travels to Store Grand Opening
or Distribution network start up sites to provide on site technical support as
needed
· Monitors resolution of high
impact and/or recurring site specific problems to achieve closure
· Researches existing and
recurring technical problems to identify root causes, develop, coordinate and
implement solutions
· Familiarizes new employees
with systems and policies, and monitors interactions with store personnel
· Develops and delivers
presentations and briefings about Lowe's technology
Minimum Requirements: · High school diploma
· General understanding of store
or distribution system operations, processes, computer industry, data
communications, Lowe's hardware and peripherals, Lowe's corporate hardware and
peripherals, and Lowe's MIS organization and procedures
· In depth knowledge of Exceed,
Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Telnet, Remedy, scripting tools, Genesis Tables
· Working knowledge of UNIX,
Networking, MVS, PC Operating Systems
Preferred Qualifications: · Bachelor's
Degree in IS, Business, Engineering, or
Electronics preferred
· 1-2
years of experience in a technical role
OR
· 3-5
years of Lowe's operations experience
· 1-2
years of experience working as a
programmer or on a technology support desk preferred
